A Content Management System (CMS) is software that keeps track of every piece of content on your website, much like your local public library keeps track of books and stores them. Content can be simple text, photos, music, video, documents, or just about anything you can think of. A major advantage of using a CMS is that it requires almost no technical skill or knowledge to manage. Since the CMS manages all your content, you don't have to. Oasis Design recommends two such Content Management Systems for their clients, namely, Adobe Contribute and Joomla. Adobe ContributeProfessional web designers oftentimes use a program such as Adobe Dreamweaver to create websites. However, the average enterpreneur who is not familiar with web software or html can easily learn a program called Adobe Contribute to update and edit their website. It is about as easy to learn as Microsoft Word. The Contribute editor is designed to integrate with Adobe's Dreamweaver software, and other Adobe products. Our clients can easily edit advanced layout components using Adobe Dreamweaver templates, which provide editable regions within a protected design. At the time of this edition, Adobe Contribute costs about $180. JoomlaJoomla is an award-winning content management system which enables you to build websites and powerful, online applications. Many aspects, including its ease-of-use and extensibility, have made Joomla the most popular website software available. Best of all, Joomla is an open source solution that is freely available to everyone. With this product, clients can manage their website from any computer that has access to the internet. We have offices in East Aurora, New York and Red Cliff, Colorado but serve businesses and individuals nationwide. |
