KERSTIN NICHOLS

TThe League of NH Craftsmen, Hanover Gallery, is pleased to present
"Transformation Series", an exhibit showcasing the work of metalsmith Kerstin Nichols, May 1st through June 30th at the gallery, 13 Lebanon Street, Hanover. The public is invited to attend a reception to meet the artist on Saturday, June 11th from 1-3 p.m.

A collection of her new jewelry made using luscious variegated shades of green colored copper recycled from the Dartmouth roofs accented with silver will be available along with other examples of her jewelry.

Kerstin's jewelry relies on the most fundamental of design elements; simple shapes, subtle textures, balance and rhythms that are pulled together to respond to the movement of the body who wears them, along with a careful attention to the quality of the materials and the craftsmanship that is necessary to enhance their design.

"It is of utmost importance to me that my work is not only beautiful and well made but designed to be utterly wearable."

Kerstin's jewelry and sculpture can be found in the permanent Collections of the Cooper-Hewitt Museum in NYC and the Museum of American Glass at Wheaton Village in Millville, NJ, in addition to other public and private collections. A long time resident of the Upper Valley, she has been a popular metalsmithing/jewelry instructor here in the Hanover League's Crafstudies Program since 1991.
